A.Gross Profit Margins can range from zero to about 60%. This is a really difficult question for our industry. There are many in our business who do not understand what their overhead is and do not build in enough gross profit to recoup this and still have a little left for net profit.
I am a painting contractor in the Washington DC area. We are an accredited painting contractor with the PDCA (Painting and Decorating contractors of America). It is my belief that the average contractor needs to keep their profit margin in the 45-55% range for a residential painting contractor. This is likely not the average though, as many come and go in our business due to poor management.

Just layer the colors little by little...be patient it will come together. I just finished a painting of a pair of beagles...the owner of the painting wanted me to change the color of the hair coat on one of the dogs. Which meant I had to basically start my layering all over from scratch. So I did this and worked on it for a few hours and it came together and the owner was happy with the results.
